GUARD columns
For microbore and analytical columns Dr. Maisch provides a High Quality and Cost Effective Cartridge GUARD system:
- The system consists of a HOLDER with replaceable GUARD CARTRIDGES
- The cartridges are High Pressure packed (plates) with a Stationary Phase of Choice
- Dr. Maisch has a large number of phases available (see catalogue or pricelist)
- Guards are available in lengths of 5, 10 and 20 mm and diameters up to 4.6 mm.
Note:
The purpose of a GUARD or PRE-COLUMN is mainly to retain (”scavenge”) strong-bonding components. It does not strictly need to consist of the same stationary phase as the main column that is used for the separation.
A good strategy is to use a stationary phase that has less retention than the separation column phase that is used.
For instance on a C18 separation columns the pre-column can be a C18 material with a lower CARBON CONTENT, a C8, or C4 material.
UNIVERSAL Stand-Alone holder
Female fittings on both ends. The stand-alone (also named INDIRECT) holder is connected by a column connector or SS/PEEK tubing. Examples:
